DESCRIPTIF

ORIGIN
Controlled designation of origin (AOC) “Côtes de Bourg”

HISTORY
the Château de Cots, which has been a family business since 1930, is located thirty kilometers from Bordeaux. For the past ten years the Chateau de Cots vineyard has practiced organic viticulture, and is approved by the controlling body ECOCERT.

LAND
The vineyard is located on one of the best plains in the area of Bayon-sur-Gironde.
It benefits from excellent sun exposure due to its south, south-west facing slopes and also benefits from a wonderful silty clay and limestone soil.

VINEYARD
Comprising of one entire piece of land, the vineyard covers an area of 15 hectares. Composition: 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Malbec. Planting density is 5000 vines / hectare and the average age of 35. Tillage is carried out by traditional plowing and grass cover.

WINE
The grapes are sorted, destemmed and put in barrels where they are left to steep for 5 to 6 weeks. The temperature is controlled by thermoregulation.

MATURATION
Is carried out in vats and French oak barrels.
